Melting like a popsicle on the 4th of Jew-Lie

Every season has it's ups and downs and I think summer has the least amount of downs. Especially when you have cool places to go, things to do, and people to see! The weekend of the 28 of June was a wonderful time as we were at the Driggs fireworks with our dear friends, Matt and Jasmine. We went together last year and decided to make it a tradition. They put on a wonderful show! So much patriotism and emotion! The fireworks were so amazing above our heads as we watched them from the car, we could hear our patriotic songs which made for a memorable event. They even had the good ol Beach Boys performing!

Then last weekend Chase and I took a trip up to Polson, Montana to stay at a beautiful cabin right on Flat Head Lake. I got off work a little earlier on Thursday and we got on the road to enjoy our holiday weekend. Taking that trip reminding me of something.... I LOVE GOING ON ROAD TRIPS WITH CHASE! We have such a fun crazy time! I downloaded some new tunes and we just rocked out. That's one of my favorite parts of taking these trips, the opportunity to rock out and sing at the top of my lungs. I love making Chase laugh with my rockin and have enjoyed our time together with no one else around. We met up with one of my best friends Erica and her husband Nelson. We LOVE these people and had the best time with them. We made some amazing meals for our dear cabin host who provided us with an unforgettable time. We paddle boarded and kayaked around the lake and that was just amazing, such a beautiful lake and not a lot of boat traffic which was heaven. We went onto the reservation and got some cheap fireworks and that is just what they were, cheap. Lighting them off the dock resulted in Nelson getting shot by a bottle rocket, a crazy roman candle that was firing every which way almost hitting all of us, and many a dud. The fireworks getting lit off all around us was quite a sight to see. We were invited back over Labor Day weekend and we might just have to do that.

This is Doyle. He LOVEs to play fetch in the water. We got a little sick of it and tried to hide all of his sticks, and then he brought this...

Quite the stick!

Still celebrating the holiday and the season we met up with Chase's/My family at Bear Lake. Daddy Burbank really loves to sail so we all met at Bear Lake to do some sailing, my main motive was to spend time with the fam. Lee, Arla, Hillary, Reggie and Riley were there and we shared such a wonderful time. Chase and I are a little obsessed with Reggie Roo so we loved our time we got to spend with her as she is growing up SO fast. Hillary is the best and I just lover her, I'll be sad when they move. And Chase's parents are just wonderful, they're My family. We got to the lake Friday afternoon and it was raining but Chase and Riley still went out sailing while the rest of us went to the hotsprings, much better choice. We talked around the campfire and shared fun memories/stories. The next day was a full day of sun! We swam, sailed, played games, chit chatted, bonded, played soccer, confronted little kids who stole our lost frisbee and got to spend time together! I feel bad I didn't even get a picture of the full crew but it was a great time. We left a little sun-burned but no doubt with a happy heart.
