Cole has a new best friend

This last week has been really nice. On the first of the month I took Cami and Hallie and we went to go see the town lighting. It worked out perfectly since our husbands were both busy with school. It was a cold night but Chasey boy did ride his bike and meet us there and we snapped a picture by the town Christmas Tree. There was a float with bubble blowing machines and that was by far Cole's favorite. He watched those bubbles for as long as he could see them. Sweet love.

Friday night we headed to Spokane and stayed with Jess. It was really nice to see her and spend some time with her. Did I mention her apartment complex is right across the street from the temple?! It makes me feel like I'm not too far from home when I can see people that I love. She has a little dog, Millie. And she and Cole became best friends. It was so fun to sit back and watch the two play and enjoy one another. They are best buds for sure. Saturday we went to her parents house and that was so nice to see where she grew up and things about her childhood. 3 of her siblings live on the property and they have their own little houses/cabins. Her sister lives in her own little element. Having 2 compost toilets, an outside toilet for summer, a fire pit, a bath-house and a loft to sleep in. It's pretty amazing. She's done it all herself too. Very impressive.

We drove home that night to beat the "snow". There was no snow. It's ok though, Cole did well in the car and Chase and I had some good conversations. I love that uninterrupted time we get to just talk and think, it makes me feel like we are strengthening our marriage. Probably because we are.

We found out last week that our truck had some serious mold going on. There were visable mold spores on the seats, seat belts, middle console, floor and carpet. I went in there with a container of Clorox wipes and went to town. Than I sprayed it with disinfecting clorox spray. I think what we've decided to do is take it in to get dried out, fix the driver down since it's loose and falls when you open it, and then we'll let an ozone bomb thing go off on the inside and kill any spores I may have missed. I was feeling a little "wo is me" about this since it's a couple hundred dollar process but that day Hillary, my sister in law, had her car die on her while driving to work with the girls in the back. I can handle some mold growing in my truck.

Starting Dec 1st, the church has put out a service challenge leading up to Christmas. It's been nice to look each day at things that I can do to serve my fellow brothers and sisters. I haven't had really great opportunities to serve yet but I do the little things I can. We went to a community Christmas Musical Program Sunday and that was nice way to bring in the season. Mag, Lan and jamin joined which was really sweet of them. Jamin and Cole really are the sweetest buds, I'm really grateful that we have the opportunity that we do.

My funny moment of the week happened yesterday morning. I was sitting at the kitchen table getting things ready for my week or two of babysitting and I hear the tree fall behind me, C. nowhere to be seen. So I quickly put the tree back up to see C. laying there on his back looking rather shocked. I picked him up and he whimpered like a pup. My first thought not hearing anything from under the tree was that C. had knocked himself out or something. But after knowing he was ok minus a few scratches from our fake tree I just had to laugh. He had completely disappeared. Hopefully he's learned his lesson about pulling on the tree.
