1st Week of Whole 30... oi

Well we have survived our first week of the Whole 30. It hasn't been too bad until we got to the weekend. I swear that this round of the attempted Whole 30 has messed with my emotions. I go from being so mean and so rash to being sorry and disappointed in myself within moments time. It's been frustrating and I really have to ask myself if it's worth it. Starting week #2 has been much better, so we'll continue on. Although we have already kind of decided that we'll only do one more week of this since we already bought all the groceries for it. But we're mainly going to focus on healthier meals and less carb. It took this round for me to realize that I associate a nice meal with some sort of carb. It's what many people do. I know Argentina did. There was bread with every meal. Anyway it's nice to remind myself that we can have veggies and meat and let that be the main course. We don't always need rolls or bread sticks or any other yummy carb.

I've still been attempting to train for my half marathon that I'm like 80% sure I'm going to run. I feel old in admitting this but my left knee hurts so bad after I run. I honestly think it's from running on snow and ice, but I can't say for sure. It gets so bad that I have to straight leg it up our stairs, one stair at a time. I keep good pace with Cole though. So once again I have to ask myself, is it worth it?. I would hate to mess my knee up for life. My saturday run was supposed to be my 7 mile run and I ran probably 5 of it and trudged through snow for the other 2. It was awful and frustrating and I ask myself, why the heck did I do that? Starting through the snow, at the Washington border I'll have you know, I kept telling myself "I need the miles just follow the course" And I got to my halfway point and realized I had to turn around and do the whole thing again! It was AWFUL. But a learning experience none the less and I lived through it to tell the tale. Hope to train more this week even though there is supposed to be more snow. Puke.
It warmed up and on this trail I had pavement!!

and then it stopped at the Idaho/Washington border.

I'm trying to create more structure when I babysit so I can feel like I'm doing more than sitting around playing with/ watching kids. I'm speaking spanish and learning songs, planing crafts, working on the alphabet, and colors for Coley. This is the first week I hope to have more structure but we'll see how that goes. We got to play outside today which was really nice! Cole ate snow. and more snow. and taught Benjamin how to eat snow. At one point they were both just eating snow. It's my little boys' favorite.

I got my new book. 1776. I'm only 40 pages in but enjoying it so far. It's written historically but also story like. I appreciate that.
We're getting excited to  go back to Denver. We didn't get the hat but we're seriously considering it.
Go Broncos!

Chase says he's trying to be me.

I got so excited when the March dates fell during Chase's spring break and then I saw the stupid ol 8 at the end. I went from high to low in like 10 seconds.

Drinking up smoothies and lookin joker-y.
